Linda Zander has more than 25 years of experience in providing training, product development, exercise support, and emergency planning. Since joining Argonne in 1988, she has applied her experience and expertise to emergency preparedness and information programs for the U.S. Army, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as other state and local agencies. She has worked on a variety of Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) projects, including development of and instructor for the CSEPP Joint Information Center/Joint Information System workshops, the CSEPP Spokesperson Training Course, the CSEPP Management Plan, the 1993 and 1994 CSEPP congressional oversight hearings, as well as numerous technical reports and public education materials. In addition, she provides planning, coordination, mock media play, and evaluation support for emergency preparedness exercises.
Prior to joining Argonne, Ms. Zander served as Manager of Hazardous Materials Transportation for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chicago, as a member and vice-chair of the Bureau of Explosives Steering Committee and a board member on the Hazardous Materials Advisory Council.
Ms. Zander is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and current President of the Alabama Society of Hazardous Materials Managers. She received a Certificate from the Institute of Business Economics and Management at the University of Southern California; an M.S. in Communications and a B.S. in Education, both from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.
