Thomas Taxon has almost 20 years of experience in software engineering. His primary focus is on model integration for many diverse domains, including electric utility, oceans, land use and management, and endangered species management. For the past 4 years, he has collaborated with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Homeland Security Research Center to develop the TEVA-SPOT user interface and also the distributed system that enables the EPA research team to analyze complex water networks and explore many options for sensor placement. He was named an Edelman Laureate, along with Argonne colleagues, for his work on TEVA-SPOT. He was a key member of a team of that developed an operational system designed to detect contamination in a subway and aid authorities in responding to an incident.  

Mr. Taxon received a B.S. in Computer Science from the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
