Edward Tanzman manages emergency management programs totaling approximately $10 million annually, including the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Training Course, and Support Program for The University of Chicago Hospitals Terrorism and Disaster and Terrorism Response Planning Process. He administers a group of 20 full-time planners, risk communications specialists, and social scientists, plus various adjunct professionals who investigate a variety of emergency management problems for government and private program sponsors.
Mr. Tanzman has 25 years of experience analyzing unusually complex domestic and international legal questions; assisting all levels of government and private firms in planning, training, and exercising for radiological, chemical, and biological emergencies; advising U.S. negotiators on constitutional issues raised by on-site inspection verification provisions in international arms control agreements; teaching international audiences about options for arms control compliance legislation; analyzing technically difficult environmental and energy law questions; and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Mr. Tanzman received a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Chicago.
