Robert Sharp evaluates and prepares site-specific reports, training materials, and exercise materials and reports. He coordinates, schedules, and conducts training for emergency operations center personnel and assists the U.S. Army with design, control, and evaluation of chemical accident exercises for chemical weapons storage sites. He assisted the Department of Homeland Security with a major terrorism response exercise for top officials and oversees a meteorological system that supports hazard modeling for the Blue Grass Army Depot. Mr. Sharp also supported the first inspection of an American chemical weapons storage site by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons by providing technical assistance during the decision-making processes.
Prior to joining Argonne in 1994, Mr. Sharp held several positions as an active-duty Army officer, leading soldiers and civilian employees at facilities that stored chemical weapons, managing training for workers, operating Army installation emergency operations centers, coordinating emergency management activities with civil jurisdictions and agencies, and leading multidisciplinary project teams to improve manufacturing operations.
Mr. Sharp received an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles; a B.S. in Accounting from Arkansas State University; and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, in the State of Arkansas.
