John R. Hummel has more than 30 years of experience in applying modeling and simulation techniques to solve real-world problems. He has worked in a wide variety of disciplines, such as climate impact analyses, impacts of the environment on military systems, logistics, human factors, and the development and use of simulation architectures.

In addition to directing a multidisciplinary team of researchers, Dr. Hummel serves as the Technical Director for Modeling and Simulation Verification, Validation, and Accreditation for the Joint Strike Fighter program. Dr. Hummel has published widely in a variety of disciplines and is on the Board of Directors for the Military Operations Research Society.
