Risk Communication Training
Whether you want to build a new program or enhance an existing one, Argonne offers course development and presentation in a wide range of risk communication and emergency public information topics designed for decision makers and public affairs professionals.
The training courses are taught by highly skilled crisis communicators with hands-on experience in responding to critical incidents. All training is consistent with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the National Response Plan (NRP).

Spokesperson Training
During an emergency, the media serve as a critical information pipeline to the public. Yet communicating effectively through the media as a spokesperson requires an understanding of the media’s role and a sense of how reporters are likely to perceive and interpret what they see and hear. JIC/JIS Workshop
In this three-day interactive workshop, you will learn why you need a Joint Information Center/System, how it works, the functions to be performed, and the team, equipment, and facility layout needed to get the job done. JIS training comprises an intensive examination of the communication and management of critical information during a crisis. News Writer Computer Training Module
The NewsWriter is an interactive training course designed to improve news writing skills. Available on CD, the course covers practical considerations involved in writing a news release as well as other factors that can determine its effectiveness.
